Moving Out

Well the movers just came and packed all of our things! We have several things that we are taking with us that are stored in a bathroom! We don't leave for another 2 weeks but we are going to stay with my parents until then! We have been super busy and will continue to be till probably the middle of May. That's when I'll be able to really keep up on here! Till then

Number 6. Part 2

Number 6 is get 4 more tattoos (making 5 total). Back in February I got number 1 (making 2 total). On the 27th I got number 2 (making 3 total)!  I'm pretty excited about this one! Of course I designed this one myself as well. My mom, both sisters and I all got the same one. I it on my right arm, my mom got it on her left arm, sister L got it on her right foot and sister E got it on her left foot! This design has a lot of meaning to us. Our family saying is Live Laugh and Love. I liked the symbolic dove with twig as peace and the three L's are awareness ribbons. The purple is Alzheimers, the pink is Breast Cancer and the grey is Diabetes! My family has been affected by all three so they all have lots of meaning!

May the odds be ever in your favor!

Last night my sister was awesome enough to watch the kids so Husband and I could go to the midnight release of Hunger Games. I read these books way back before the last book was released. So a while ago. I was so excited that they were making it into a movie! I was hoping that they would live up to the movie and it totally did! This was BY FAR the best book turned movie I have seen! The rest of this post may contain spoilers so read at your own risk:)

I thought it followed the book perfectly. When I first seen who they had as the, I wasn't too sure how it would turn out, but I loved them all except Rue. It made me fall in love with the characters all over again. Don't get me wrong Amandla Stenberg did a good job, but she isn't what I had pictured Rue to look like or act like. There were two scenes that weren't in the book and I'm not sure why they added them to this movie. Haymitch didn't fall of the stage which was a let down, haha. I really felt that they should have explained more about the Mockingjay. To me that was a HUGE part of the book to me. Hopefully they will go over it in the next movies (which they better do, haha). The didn't show the whole Mutt's being the past tributes. They did up the eyes a little bit but if you didn't read the book and know that they were supposed to be the past tributes, then you would not have known. Also at the end, they totally left out Peeta's leg being amputated and him having a prosthetic. Which becomes a problem in the second book so I'm not sure how they left it out. Something else they also didn't explain was Katniss going deaf in one ear and then the Capital fixing it. These all minor things so overall I loved it. The graphics were fantastic, although with all the gore I don't know how it was PG-13. It is definitely a HAVE TO OWN movie!

My biggest problem wasn't with the movie itself. It was toward the target audience. Of course we went to the premeire so of course there was 134651354 teeny boppers, who I fully believe had no understanding of the deeper meaning of the book/movie. When one of the last tributes, Cato, died, most of the audience cheered. All I could do was hang my head. Cato dying was NOT a victory. He is a victim of his government, just like Katniss and Peeta. There should be no cheering when an innocent life is slain because he was forced to participate by his government. Yes, I said innocent. Yes, he killed, but he wouldn't have killed anyone if he weren't forced into the games. In the end it's wasn't about Cato dying or Katniss and Peeta winning, it was about a corrupt government forcing CHILDREN to fight to the death, and that....that is no victory.

Now that I'm off my soap box I'll say that is was FABULOUS and as soon as it pops on Amazon, I'm going to have it pre-ordered! And with this, I leave you.

May the odds be ever in your favor:)
